YULIA PROTSYSHYN - BIO
Born in West Ukraine.
Yulia started developing as an artist at the age of 14. In 2003 went to the Boichuk Art School in Ternopil, Ukraine. As a teenager she won six Ukrainian Art competitions and received eight distinctions in Art creativity. Apart from the Art School she also attended one year course of private lessons in academic drawing and painting with teacher, artist and printmaker Igor Zilinko who formulated her basic professional skills.
Education:
2020 – 6 months fellowship at the Graphic Department at the E. Geppert Academy of Art, Wroclaw, Poland
2012 – MFA with honours at Fine Arts and Graphics at the Ukrainian Academy of Printing in Lviv, Ukraine.
Diploma under the guidance of her principal teacher Sergiy Ivanov which had a significant impact on developing her art direction.
From 2006 studied “Fine Arts and Graphics” at the Ukrainian Academy of Printing in Lviv, Ukraine.
Work experience:
2019 – 08/2022 – Senior lecturer of composition and printmaking at the Department of Book graphics and printmaking at the Ukrainian Academy of Printing in Lviv, Ukraine
2016 – 2019 Assistant of composition and printmaking at the Department of Book graphics and printmaking at the Ukrainian Academy of Printing in Lviv.
2009 – 2016 –worked as a designer and illustrator for leading ukrainian and international companies and publishers.
Priorities: drawing, painting, printmaking, illustration, art books.
